Big z back to rotation? ( UPDATED:HE IS GOING BACK TO ROTATION)

Big Z going back to rotation soon.
Lou said that Big Z going to long relief to build up arm strength and stamina. He did not officially say he going back to rotation but Big Z said Lou and Rothchilds came and talked to him about going back to rotation shortly. Its about time considering Zambrano has been wasted for the last 4 weeks and has missed 6 starts while only pitching in 2 games that were tight.

Z plays on emotion. The change back should be good for him. He can get fired up and throw hard, right up till his first walk then who knows how he will respond.

and to add to it too, he was the most expensive pen pitcher in MLB history.

as said, he belongs in the rotation.

He was bad as a reliever, he needed to go back to the rotation. Unfortunately this means that Tom Gorzelanny will go the bullpen when he's been pitching so well. Hopefully his lefty arm means less of GraBlow.

Doubtful IMO. They want him as a starter and they don't want to hurt his development by bringing him up early. It could end up as badly as when the Cubs brought up Jeff Samardzija.

well they can place him in the pen for a while, just so he can get his feet wet.

But i agree, if they bring him up he has to be a starter.

Waste of time. Z is important to the rotation and a helpful bat on his day.

He's the worst of the 6 right now and at the time they sent him to the pen.

Zambrano

Big Z looked better Tuesday night. His velocity was a little better and the movement and control were excellent. It would be nice to see a better mix of pitches, especially if he's really going to start again. My take is that his pitching for the most part has been so bad that he'll be the long man. It sounds better to say we're going to stretch him out to get ready to start again. If he does improve considerably, maybe he could deserve to start. But then whom does he replace? As soon as Gorzelanny was nailed by the line drive tonight, I said, "Oops, there's the hole in the rotation." I hope Tom is ok. I always liked him and he's doing a great job.

I think Z should be ready to start now. Those 2 pitches really stretched his arm out.

Well, there IS the whole issue with having 4 of the 5 current rotation arms having ERA+s above 100 and the only one without being Lilly, and kicking him out to the bullpen in favor of Z would be as equally stupid as moving Z to the pen in the first place.
