85 draft picks since 2010.

3 pro bowlers

17 players who started 2 seasons or more.

Without brady, he'd be a dumpster fire. Guaranteed.

He makes pace look like a genius.

He may stink at drafting, but he doesn't give Mike Glennon $45M. Patriots are always good signing free agents at the end of the signing period when players are desperate for a contract for pennies on the dollar.

He sucked with the Browns but what is your point? Let's include the Browns. That means he has 6 Super Bowls in like 25 years instead of 6 Super Bowls in 20 years. Ok, so which coach has down better than him in the NFL over a 25 year period?

6 SB victories. 3 SB losses. Also created the scheme that slowed down the 1990 Bills.

Belichick's A Football Life was a 2 part show encompassing the 2009 season and how fucked they were cause their cupboard was kind of bare at that time. Brady grew his hair out, they got Gronk, and the Jets shit on their heads. (that's Mark Sanchez Jets btw) and oh hey, they came back and won 3 more rings. yeah, real testament to failure in that organization. I wish the Bears could have down years like 10-6 like the Patriots. all we got out of it was Lovie Smith fired huh

can this fucking thread end already?

lol, the Patriots built their teams in the trenches. Brady wouldn't have survived if he played behind lines like the Bears have fielded for the greater part of the last 15 years. that's among many reasons why they had long-term success. I don't think any team in the league, or in any other sport, has had the level of success over a 20 year period like the Patriots did.

it's probably the reason why Brady had mostly no-name mooks to throw balls or hand off to, because they put the money in the other places that mattered. Belichick had great defenses in the first decade. that's an area where they had slipped for awhile. they regained some traction a few years ago though.
Absolutely this.

The Patriots throughout the Bill Belichick era have been very often either the oldest team in the NFL, on average the largest (as in heaviest players) team in the NFL, or both. In a sports world that has become increasingly enamored with youth and speed over the last twenty years Belichick zigged while everyone else zagged, and won five titles because of it.

This is like saying without a penis you wouldnt be a man. At the end of the day Bellichek was in fact the GM that found the GOAT in the 6th round. He found him after like 20 QBs were taken and he developed him into the GOAT.

By contrast, Pace had the choice of the first QB in the draft and of the 3 under consideration magically picked the one fuck up.

That is why Bellichek is in the convo as the GOAT while Pace is in the convo of getting fired. Pace had a 66.67% chance of not fucking up and still managed to do so.
And then he traded up.....

"Motivation is for kindergartners. I'm not a kindergartner."

Belichick has been solid at drafting offensive linemen in recent years. Thuney, Andrews, Mason, and Onwenu have all been solid and all were selected in the 3rd round or later.

His drafting has always been not very good. Sure, he drafted some good players, but the last decade has been awful. The first is only great due to gronk and brady. If he didn't luck into brady(lets be honest, any time you take a qb in the 6th round its just for shits and giggles), he'd probably not be coaching the pats right now.

As a coach, he's pretty good, but people give him too much credit. Brady made that team, its quite obvious. Even at 43 he's doing things that are crazy AF.
Its hard to comprehend how stupid you have to be to continue to act like Bill belichek isn't a great coach. Somehow the argument is that he isn't a great coach because he has not drafted well. The thing is he still won with rosters which he supposedly was doing a bad job of putting together. This year he is in the playoff hunt with an inept qb and a defense which most of the players opted out. Also Brady has looked very vulnerable outside of that NE scheme that had propped him up and protected him the last 3 years or so.

They must be bad. Sadows keeps proclaiming all his draft picks are terrible. Also belichek clearly can't coach. Time to move on from him. His last couple decades of charades are over.

I was going down the line of the Patriots going back to 2009. that team has produced a shitload of Pro Bowlers. wasn't that the initial premise of this thread that they had no Pro Bowlers? also of course they got good linemen in the 3rd and later. that team never overspent on anyone. they know how to buy and sell very well. they can perennially finish 12-4 or better for multiple years and have shit tons of draft picks because they do good business.

can anyone spot the difference yet?

Bad coach and gm of that team though. All smoke and mirrors

When you're drafting 28th or lower every year, those numbers are not as bad as they would seem, plus, he often trades out of the 1st round for multiple lower round picks.

What? This isn't the NBA where probowlers are exclusively in the top few picks in round 1. Take the infamous 2017 draft: 9 probowlers before the 28th pick. 15 after or undrafted.

2016 11 before. 19 after.

That track record is really horrendous especially since he accumulates picks.

Look at Pace: Cohen, Jackson, Amos, Whitehair, Howard, etc. After the 28th pick

Well idk if you are just taking sadows word for it, but if you look back at drafts since 2011, belicheck is picking up productive players for his system in every draft except 1
