they didnt struggle today though and thats the problem with the narrative that the OL is a big problem. Against the Jets who have 32 sacks this year against a completely unathletic QB in Trevor, on paper he should of been killed, the fact that things got better (almost twice as better based on attempts) against such a great pass rushing D makes you have to reconsider why that is. we all know Fields holds onto the ball to long, but for some reason if you mention that is something he needs to work on to get better then the meatballs go crazy and start attacking you, its like wanting fields to work on his weaknesses in a year that is already shot for some strange reason makes them go insane. it makes no sense.
Having an actual football debate around here that doesnt derail into a pile of crap is pretty rare, thanks for being reasonable and actually putting forth a football thought

Like does anyone get what @dbldrew is happy about? Like I would get it if the team scored three TDs, Trevor threw for a bunch of yards AND the OL didn’t give up a bunch of sacks but literally the only hill he has is “Well at least the OL didn’t give up TOO many sacks, so it can’t be that bad, right?” The bears offense was anemic and the lone TD they got was off a deflection into traffic, after they barely could get pass midfield but hey Trevor didn’t get sacked 5 times and he isn’t athletic so clearly Fields is a problem?

I've never thought they deserve all the blame for Fields not being able to the throw the ball. The sub par receiving targets have plenty to do with that as well. You can find lots of breakdowns too showing how Fields is trying to see guys open before he throws which is not how it works in the NFL. He needs to throw guys open or anticipate a little more.
All that said, the O line needs help, as do the receiving targets (though I think there's plenty worse out there in the league on paper than Mooney/Claypool/Pringle). I got a friend who's all "Fields can't throw" but that's not really the most important thing at this point. Fields is showing that he's a play-maker, and if there's anyone who's going to put in the work to improve his ability to anticipate and throw guys open, it's Fields.
Yea, too bad that's what most of this board is these days: children calling children names.
