Just recently read a article from Pierre Lebrun, Stan wants to land disgruntled forward Pierre Luc Dubois from Columbus and the asking price could be Dach.
LetsgoHawks.net is where you can find the story.

Wow....

this is like, if Bowman does this...its time to congregate at the capital of the Hawks and storm the gates yeh?
The one and only reason a GM would do this is because they don't like the weird new style porn they found on the 18 year olds laptop or like obviously the guy is trying to save his job and looking to trade a large asset the team can't use this year.

Most have turned to the Stan has to go plan...but this won't save his job if its on the line either. We need a netminder dolt. Clever attempt to save his job though, poach a division rival you will play 10 times this year.

Dubois is solid.

Depends on if they think Dachs ceiling is higher

22yro,big bodied center on a decent two year deal with good offensive numbers but he's yet to reach 45% at the dot.

I could see them moving Cat before Dach. Unless McJesus or Mackinnom is coming back no way in hell I’m trading Dach.

My opinion, this has to do with the future of Jonathan Toews, the Hawks have nobody who can replace him within the organization at this time, Stan is trying to be proactive here, we know what Dubois can do at 22years old and now with Dach and his current injury there will be question marks. This is a tough one, solid centermen with size and strength and can score or an unproven player who has a very high ceiling.

The issue with Dach going forward will be his wrist injury, he does have a huge upside, but 6’2 centermen dont fall from trees. Is Dubois a #1 first line player, that we don’t know, that can be the same argument about Dach. Yes Dach can play Center as well, is he the organizations future, we don’t know that either.
Personally, I would package Dcat and possible a #1 for Dubois. A perfect situation would be to have both.

Dubois is skilled but....I watch a lot of Blue Jackets games. Absolutely would not do this. Just my opinion, Dach will be an elite 2 way guy. Dubois ain't all that

Rupecht, I won’t argue, Dach has tremendous upside, however wrist injuries like the one he just sustained could hinder his progression moving forward. Yes he young, but to say he will be an elite 2 way player is pushing it. Toews, Hossa, Kopitar, Bergeron these guys are elite, your putting him in the same category as all these Hall of famers and believe me when I say if Dach can be half the player these guys are then us fans will be very happy moving forward.
To say Dubois ain’t all that is unfair, I am not a constant Blue Jackets observer but the kid has skill and has proven it.
I mentioned in another post, the best situation is for Stan to make a trade and land Dubois and keep Dach.

I agree. I like Dach a lot but he needs to add a few pounds to that long frame as he gets tends to get pushed around. Dubois already has the size, strength, is a two way player plus he's only 22 which would fit the rebuild. Given Dach's wrist injury, I'm not sure just Dach alone will get it done. Dubois scouting report immediately made me think of him as a Toews type of player, so your Toews replacement theory definitely has some legs.

Idk man...

Dubois is just as good defensively as Dach and is double tough on top of it.

Hell throw out the year already and send Cat and Strome with him and keep Kirby. A Dach/Dubois line would be fun to watch for the next decade

I watched that draft and I believe he was compared to Toews.

Idk if I'd compare them too much tho. He's faster then Toews was and has a mean streak.

The big question is....

Would you trade the Hawks first round pick this year for Dubois when there's alot of potential that pick could be a lottery pick which could possibly be first overall when the second coming of Chris Pronger will be available?

I would do that deal (with Debrincat), but straight up, I don't know -- that's a tough one. Having both would be insane, but losing Dach -- how does that get you any closer to being a better team overall? It would make you better in the short-term -- yes -- but your team overall is going to suck in the short-term anyway, and you would still have just as many holes down the middle.

Dubois is obviously the more mature player over Dach, but I wouldn't do this trade, because you would still be the same team with Dubois and Dach's ceiling as a two-way player is higher. I think it's too early to give up on Dach -- Bowman already did that with Joker, with (in my view) negative results).

Dach and Dubois are both centers...no? Neither guy can win a draw to save their lives.
