I think he deserves to be paid by the Bears or traded to someone that will pay him.

As with every other position, salaries increase year over year. Quan is clearly a top 5 off ball LB and thus should get a deal around 20m or so.

If he were drafted in the 2nd round like Warner and Leonard he would already be a FA or extended.

I also said from before the draft if they werent prepared to meet his demands then trade him. We are not SB contenders and off ball LB is not a premium position so should have pulled a trigger on a trade before FA or the draft when teams had money. I would have traded him and Quinn round the same time I moved Mack instead of half assing it.

100% This! Why is everyone ok with Poles making this mistake? He’s been talking to Roquan before the draft. If he wasn’t planning on paying him 20mil then he should if traded him and moved on. Probably cost him at least 13ish million. His production from the previous year easily would have got him the $20 mill/yr he wanted. Likely even more as his production was in line with McLaurin who got almost $24 mill/yr. So it might have cost him $25 million

Kirk is also 25 years old, not 29.

But if your looking for the best possible outcome for the Bears, I am not sure they are playing this the right way, and have mishandled the whole situation dating back to last year.

This is a silly argument. There is no way to claim 400 yards vs 1200 yards reduces your risk of injury which is obvious since ARob still got injured in 2021 and missed games.

Not a ton really. The Bears are not a cheap thing to operate and we all know it's not being operated particularly well.
