He's had a QB coach since he was 5 years old and it shows in his elite footwork. Young is going to be a great QB in the NFL.

Although I included him in most of my mock drafts, I left him out of a few and I feel bad about that.

I wish him well but he may not be the 1st one taken. Along with his size, he's also not got an average or below strength NFL franchise QB arm. His hand measurement will be interesting to see. Remember the college ball can be over an 1" smaller circumference than the NFL ball and he doesn't throw the tightest spirals. That said he also had a shoulder ding this year and we don't know how that affected him. Doug Flutie with less velocity or Drew Brees? Really difficult to know.

This is not a dis. He plays the position extremely well and may overcome to be a perennial top player but the questions about his size etc, are real, especially in the NFL where the DL will be as big and talented as the guys blocking for him. He'd absolutely kill it with the 49ers but he won't have that luxury.

I feel better about Young than I did with Kyler Murray. But I don't see him being a superstar.

Dedicated means a lot and he's certainly that. He looks like an almost can't fail but will he be special? Kind of player that will hit the ground running. More about finding his top speed.

Look at the rookies from 2 years ago. Jones was easily the best out of the gate but nobody is trading Fields or Trevor for him now.

Jones is BRs kind of player.

Of note on this point, the great smaller QB’s such as Drew Brees and Russell Wilson just so happened to have incredibly massive hands. Brees measured in at the same size as Alshon Jeffery and Wilson’s are even bigger.

Not being a homer here, but if Young goes to a team that can't protect him; he might die on field. Not everyone is a warrior like Justin Fields. And Young's size might get him hurt.
If the Bears have anything, they have one tough meditating SOB.

Also of note, Russell Wilson's wife Ciara has bigger hands than he does!

I don't watch much college football, and don't really know shit about the guy.

That said, a hot take just watching the video is that he has a pretty low release for someone so short.

Brees was the same height, but he stood tall and released the ball high over the top most of the time.

Admittedly the first couple of clips on the vid above were him throwing with nobody even close to him, maybe that accounts for the 3/4 delivery.

6' is borderline- at that point release begins to really matter.
If he can release high in the pocket he should be good enough.

I looked for a hand measurement before posting. Was curious since a lot of his balls, while accurate, aren't super tight. Though I wanted Fields ot Trevor in that draft, Justin's hand size was a minor concern and I hate say it but it showed early and i still think it will improve. His off platform throws still come out like they slip sometimes but he'll compensate.

I think if you have a well manned effective O, Young runs it well out of the box but it's unlikely he'll get that if drafted where expected.
Burrow has small hands so clearly not always an issue.

His effective range is probably 50-55 yards but his arm elasticity is what truly generates appeal. The Alabama QB's arm is very elastic, and he can throw from different arm angles while maintaining velocity generation. Moreover, he's able to throw with easy velocity and accuracy off-platform.

I wouldn't choose Young or Fields because I like what Fields can become and has to become next season BUT I may choose Caleb Williams over Fields even with the USC QB curse.

Will remember this later since you think Bryce Young is going to be awesome on a horrible team

People get that confused you can be good on a bad team if your team has an elite WR in his prime like Watson did but nothing like Fields got is almost impossible.
