Before this year the Bears had only ever drafted 3 guys from Tennessee State:
1966 NFL Draft 6rd 92 Chicago Bears Frank McRae DT (I don't remember this guy-probably a bust because he wasn't in the league very long)

1974 NFL Draft 1st 4 Chicago Bears Waymond Bryant LB (From what I remember--a pretty good player that didn't quite live up to his draft status)

1983 NFL Draft 8rd 203 Chicago Bears Richard Dent DE (Hall of Famer)

And now we have have:
2020 NFL Draft 7 227 Chicago Bears Lachavious Simmons OG

So...1.) Bust (though it's hard to call a late rounder a bust, I'll use it for the sake of argument)
2.) Pretty good pro
3,) Hall of Fame late round gem like the last guy on the list above.
Your thoughts

#1, but not a bust due to how late he was chosen, as you said

Are you really gonna be a dick about this?
Well lets see? Is Simmons going to be great, OK or bust? You left out almost great and almost fail. Otherwise, you absolutely got this covered.

Staying on the roster, sure. But that seems to be damning with extremely faint praise.

Love your avatar by the way, and I am not just whistlin' Dixie to gain favor like a cowardly ferryman would.

I thought the categories broad enough to cover this. Maybe I was wrong.

Nobody on this forum operates from any sort of predictive accuracy, my friend. Unless you count blind luck. We all have our opinions or a particular axe to grind and that's it. For me this was just a fun little fact- no axe, no opinion and no intention to try and accurately predict what this young man may or may not become. :)

Exactly! Nothing. No reasons for success or fail nor facts on player strength or weaknesses to spark any thought or convo. Plug in any 7th round choice ever and this thread looks exactly the same and with an equal amount of actual targeted info. None. These responses are only here because you called me a dick after a mild reference to how seriously lame this thread actually is.
