Per New York Observer, Melo is leaning to opting out of his final year to become a free agent.

If he does, PaxGar really should consider it.
But the number 1 target should be Lebron James.

Melo would be my second choice of free agents next summer.

Are you listening John Paxson? HuH? What?
You had better because these are 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA.
Thats got to at least be worth looking into Mr. Paxson.
Do your homework.

Thanks for your understanding Mr. Paxson.
Peace!

I really don't think 'Melo would be a good fit on the Bulls. Rose needs the ball in his hands to be the most effective, as does Melo. There's only one ball. I'm all for more scoring, but for this type of team (defense first), I don't see Melo getting us anywhere Deng hasn't.

Just my $0.02.

Sign with any good team, Carmelo! Please, just keep your overpaid cancer-softass far away from the Bulls.

Also, let's see if we can have a Carmelo + Bulls thread that isn't 20 pages of melodrama.

Yes he could. In fact, a way of getting more money and a longer contract with the Knicks is to opt out and re sign. But, the article I read made it seem liked he wanted to be courted by other teams before making a decision. I would like to have Melo on the Bulls, but he would have to take a HUGE paycut and realize that Rose is the alpha. If Boozer can play for Thibs with his weak ass D, so can Melo.

youve already lost him

pax would have to make moves in order to get enough space to offer a max deal...if melo commits to sign i would have no problem dumping a few guys if we're not NBA Champs

but i think melo just wants to see what free agency is like and thats it....i think he resigns with NYK

we'll be signing Nikola Mirotic and Ben Gordon next year

I'd offer him about 15 per year. He's making about 23 if I remember correctly.

Even if we did have the space to sign him I doubt he'd take the offer.

I doubt Lala will let him leave new York and I agree he probably just wants to see what free agency is like....but fuck that, garpax needs to take that shot too if we don't win a ring

Melo isn't going anywhere...the Knicks can pay him over $30 million more than anyone else.

Gee, Derrick Rose is not the scorer I am AND I am supposed to defer to him? I ain't Carlos Boozer. Unlike Rose, I led my college team to a National Championship. Rose can't teach me shit about winning. You got to be kidding me! THAT is why top free agents will not come to Chicago. Rose is jusr a nicer Allen Iverson. Add that to the Bulls cheap ownership and Chicago blind love with DRose? No thanks, I rather go to LA and wait out Kobe.
