The amount of rain sucks. Most of the fields are flooded so many farmers will be planting again. Grass is growing very well. Mow twice a week.
Official update for rain at O'Hare in MayAnd more rain coming this week.
I work in the wastewater treatment industry and these past 3-4 days are very similar to April 2013, which was a complete shit show (pun intended). Even though wastewater is separate from stormwater, the infrastructure isn't a completely closed system due to cracked and shifted pipes, so we end up treating a ton of rain water in our process.
Our plant typically treats 11MGD (million gallons per day) and during these times our flow rates hit 90+MGD. It's a mess right now.
I wish I could help you out. I'd give you about 25 million gallons of rain water, which isn't supposed to be in our sanitary sewer pipes...Would love to have some rain out here.... It hasn't rained much at all this entire spring.
I am not sure I need that much for my garden.... However, if we could divide it up I am sure we would take it!I wish I could help you out. I'd give you about 25 million gallons of rain water, which isn't supposed to be in our sanitary sewer pipes...
Looks like we got some rain overnight in my suburb. I wonder if it was enough to push us over the top?Official update for rain at O'Hare in May

I don't recall snow in Chicago in May since 2009 or so. It was only a trace amount too.
