This weather sucks!
23 degrees, and I am sick as a dog- first illness since feb of 2020, so it is extra annoying.
Had an emergency fiber cut i had to fill in for, and you have to splice fiber in a clean, enclosed trailer
The dude that was helping me turned out to be sick.

Almost a 102 fever right now, but there is a silver lining.
I figured I deserved a nice warm robe to lounge in all weekend, and found one on amazon- best 39 dollars i ever spent.
Gonna spend the whole weekend in this.

oh yeah.
honestly, gloves, boots, and coveralls have come a long way since I started.
there is some pretty lightweight and easy moving yet super warm options.

I am really considering trying one of those heated vests- there are a ton of options on amazon.

Anyone ever try one?

I’ve used heated socks but no vest…
At sub freezing I’d say give it a shot.
It’s amazing what you acclimate too.
I’ve been in AZ long enough for mid 40s to suck now.

Hope you feel better!

I was taking Friday off anyway but I don't really like the idea of driving home from work in a blizzard Thursday night.
Between work and home is about 25 miles of flat, open, windy, central IL wasteland.
Was hoping for Monday triple time $ but I heard they're only going to offer Saturday.
I might have a 5 day weekend.
Rawr!

These models have drastically changed in the sense, Chicago may not see all that much snow... (it keeps lowering and at the moment models are spitting out between 2-6 inches)... The real thing will be the high wind gusts that will basically blow any snow on the ground around absolutely everywhere.. This is what an actual blizzard is... most people think a blizzard involves a shit ton of snow (because, usually, it does)..However, a blizzard is measured by the wind speeds, much in the same way hurricanes are... so we may experience here our first blizzard (in my life anyways) without having a whole lot of snow.

Yeah super windy here but only like 2 inches of snow. But I have to say that this is not nearly as extreme as other storms we have seen.

Still nothing has come close to rival that blizzard in 2011 that shut down Lake Shore Drive.

The snow was never going to be an issue... but even the winds, at least in the Western burbs never got as high as they thought they might.

The cold is pretty much on target with what they said it was going to be.
