It'd be nice for many reasons to have that new stadium but you better believe any long time Bears fan will always miss Soldier Field no matter how much you love the new stadium.

I'm from New York and a huge Mets fan and all long time Mets fans, that i know, still miss Shea stadium to this day cause it just had that thing you grew up loving and loved going to.
Soldier Field ceased to be Soldier Field the minute they dropped that abortion of a renovation in it.

They couldn’t really call themselves the Chicago Bears if they did, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
on one hand, it would make them more money, which in this world means more competitive.
otoh, Chicago, love it hate it, is an iconic city that the Bears identity will be forever intertwined.
easy call when you look at the money, tough call on the identity....
Hell San Francisco, cardinals , NY jets NY giants, Washington football team all of these teams do not play in their namesake cities.

The two best venues in chicago are United Center and Sox Park. Plenty of parking, easy access to roads and highways, and easy access to rideshare.

Wrigley field and soldiers field are nightmares. Lack of parking. Traffic congestion, and hard to get to. Little to no access to rideshare.
I tailgate every home game I can and have never had a problem with parking, traffic and it’s easy as hell to get to. And it’s easy to get in and out of the stadium.
Sometimes in life you have to make your own conditions.
I like Soldier Field and will go to games there until I physically can’t, where ever they play

Paradise is a part of Las Vegas. The Stadium is literally across from the Mandalay Bay.

perhaps the only person i find less trustworthy than lightfoot is greg gabriel

You are 100% correct and its really is bad how people run and cosign misquotes . The guy basically made up some stuff and people are ready to jump on it and pile on .

Daily Herald

In a news conference, Lightfoot responded to a question by saying she'd seen the reports about Arlington Park but that the Bears have a lease with Soldier Field until 2033, and "the NFL doesn't let any teams break their leases."

Lightfoot said she was on a call in the last two weeks about changes the Bears would like at Soldier Field and the city wants to work with the organization.

"I think it's incumbent upon us as a city to step up and look at ways in which we can make sure that Bears fans, but also the Bears as an organization, have the best opportunities to maximize the fan experience and of course, maximize revenues. So we're going to keep those conversations going," Lightfoot said.

To your point, we taxpayers are on the hook to pay for soldier field until 2033. Good luck getting them to impose another stadium tax on us through

Friends of the Park is responsible for any bad things that happen with regards to public or private renovations on Chicago's lakefront.

If you don't like the current stadium you can thank them.

If you are a star wars fan and wanted George Lucas to build his museum on the lakefront you can thank them for us losing that to California.

Moving the stadium to anywhere would be worth it to avoid those idiots.

I’d rather they upgrade soldier field somehow(again). The location is a lot cooler to have in the heart of Chicago right on the lake IMO. Maybe it’s just me being old and sentimental
Let the park district have it, and use the old Michael Reese property for a new mega stadium since the olympics didn't pan out for that property and it's sitting there doing nothing.

Duh.

They build a roofed stadium to handle things like concerts, NCAA Tourney, wrestling shows or a Super Bowl....it could be a gold mine if done correctly.

For the first time in years I went to a Bear game about three years ago....I swore I'd never go back. It was better but still antiquated. Chicago has been in need of a world class facility for years, Arlington Park's closing is the opening they need.
Yes, and with my Michael Reese plan, and a roofed stadium, you tie it to McCormick East, covert that to a casino with great restaurants and shows in the Arie Crown, docks for boaters to come eat, gamble, see shows....water shuttle to Navy Pier....work out gambling cruises with other casinos on Lake Michigan...all the McCormick buildings, the Hyatt and Marriott and the small sports arena are all tied by pedestrian walkways so you can cover all of them in the winter without stepping outside. The money would pour into a complex like that year around.

Let's start a Crowdfunding campaign to buy Arlington property after some dark parking garage trench coat hush hush dealings with the next mayor to be. Buy the land for pennies on the future sold dollars. Bears move. We all profit insanely. It's the "Windy City" Chicago way. ?
