60 degrees, Suns out, everyone's dying from corona!

I'm making chili too bro!


I am literally running out of meals to sustain my family.

Chili makes like 28 meals.
You aren't wrong. Back in college, I would make Taco soup and would eat that all week lol. Cost around $12 bux all in.

My god, you and @Burque have weak soup games. It's pretty much chili with corn. You can get as creative with it as you want (green peppers/onions/jalepenos) as you want. Poor college kids, this was my money recipe.

2 cans of corn - drained
2 cans of kidney beans
2 12oz cans tomato sauce
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 pkg taco seasoning
Either 1 lb of ground beef or chicken (then shred)

Top with cheese and tortilla strips

Yeah, this isn't a cinna soup by any means. If you can make Churros, maybe they could be like dippers tho. that might be good

Forgive me for not living in the frozen tundra section of the country and thusly not needing to know 25 different chili recipes.

Edit: Come at me when you need the Green chile stew recipe.

It was cooler than normal today for this time of year, and generally rainy and overcast. I've been fucking around a lot with trying to incrementally improve my chili. But tonight I heeded @Ares advice and went back to my basic recipe. Only change I made was doubling the amount of green chilis. Shit is so good.

For reference:


1lb lean ground beef
1lb ground italian sausage
1 29 oz can tomato sauce
2 14 oz cans fire roasted diced tomatoes
1 12oz beer (usually whatever I have on hand)
1 large onion chopped
3-4 stalks of celery chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped
1/3 C chili powder
4 tsp ground cumin
3 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp white sugar
1 jalepeno finely chopped (no seeds)
1 poblano finely chopped (no seeds)
¼ tsp ground cayenne pepper (or omit / add more depending on how much heat you like)
1 can light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2 small cans of green chilies

I think this is my go to for awhile, although I do want to experiment with roasting some different pepper blends.

True confessions: tonight I took a step towards the dark side. I often eat cornbread with my chili. But unfortunately tonight I may have become a disgusting deviant. I had some leftover cinnamon butter that I used for sweet potatoes a few days ago. So I thought, what's the harm, I'll throw some of that on my cornbread, it's sort of in the neighborhood of what @HawkBear suggests, along with most of Iowa with their weird cinnabon shit. Omg, it was really good. The interplay of the sweet, savory and spicy kinda nailed it.

My Iowa homeboy took me to the mall food court for a hotdog with fritos and salsa on it and considered it an ethnic meal.

I am not sure what you are referring to, but Frito pie is actually a thing. Although it has nothing to do with malls or hot dogs, or salsa for that matter.
