and the NBA could not give him a spot on the rookie team.

I dont know what changed with Coby lately, maybe Lavine back at odds with the idiot coach is having him open up his game more.

I hope he can keep it up through the end of the season. If he can still do well under this mess of a coaching scheme and dysfunctional team, hopefully bodes well for him if by some miracle we get competency

After a rough December/January for him, it's nice to see him do this. let's hope he can keep it up.

About coby...

2 weeks of great play = he’s good

Where were these comments during December and january?

Even after this hell of a 2 weeks or so of games...he has a negative VORP rating on the year...meaning he’s still playing at a below avg level for an NBA guard on the season overall.

Pump the brakes before we anoint him

I still have the same comments, give me 10 assists a game if you are playing point guard.

There are literally 0 PGs in the NBA averaging 10 assists per game

Agreed on that part. He doesn’t have to do that. But the assist to turnover ratio does need to improve...especially if he’s going to be a point guard

I don't ever see him being a true point guard, but he doesn't need to be. He's been playing very well, especially when you factor in how young he is. I hope this stretch of play is something he will be able to sustain for a season. I'd like to see him add 10-15 pounds of muscle over the off season.

WGAF about true point guard.

NBA positions don't work like they do in high school. Jordan was a PG his first season. (Oh dear gawd, did I just say that? now people are going to say he made x-assists and then make a tard leap to claim my statement means I suggest Coby = Jordan). :) Dislike button is bellow for you guys.

A player's talent, skill, and worth are assessed by what they contribute. RELATIVE to their experience in the league as well. Rookies with high efficiency are RARE, so pointing at efficiency for a rookie means jack shit too. He either continues to improve (despite this shit staff to maximize his development), or he plateaus and we pawn him off for some kind of return. No matter what, he's good. Any half brained coach and GM (which we lack) can work with Coby to make this team better.

yeah, this is a team that took a prototypical point guard and turned him into a shooter with Derrick Rose. All we have are guys that can dribble thru a little pressure and shoot for the past half decade now, maybe a full decade.

But hey, the prototypical center now has to run out away from rebounds and spread the floor or shoot threes, so its never going to be right.

The "prototypes" of each position has changed. The game has changed, so just adjust your mindsets accordingly.
