Someone recommended these beans to me about a year back- superb- if you make your java at home. You can get them on Amazon- along with almost anything else you need- including Thai hookers.

I'm by no means a coffee connoisseur (I'm happy with McDonald's and gas station coffee), but when I went to Kona, Hawaii during New Year's, I took tours of a couple different coffee farms. Many people say that Kona coffee is the best coffee in the world (along with the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee), and I must say, it was pretty damn good. I'm talking about the 100% Kona coffee, not the Kona blend that a lot of stores sell. It is very pricey, though... $75/lb for the good shit.

I bought coffee from both of these places, and they've gotten me spoiled:

I have a Nesco roaster and generally use a French press.
I like Kenyan coffees, but LOVE LOVE LOVE Sumatrans.

I use an aeropress and a moka-pot.

Aeropress when it's just myself, and a moka-pot to brew when I have company.

As far as beans, I like Honduran beans the best. Death Wish out of Washington State is maybe my favorite when it's actually consistent, but not $20 a bag good.

There is a roaster in NC called counter culture that is winning all types of awards. I haven't had one I didn't like yet. They have one designed for iced coffee that is amazing.

I got an aeropress when I broke my french press.
I eventually got another french press.
The aeropress is a pretty cool little gadget and it does make a decent cup.
I just really prefer gettting the oils with FP that the aero's paper filter, well, filters.
Didn't mess around with any of the custom or DYI filters or methods, such as the upside down method.
I might mess with it now and then, but usually stick to FP.
I get beans from sweet maria's BTW.
