Sutton signed an extension yesterday for 60.8 for four years with 34.9 guaranteed. That’s 15.2 per year but he does get 18 year one.

I don’t see how Robinson gets anywhere near 20 per season unless some GM absolutely loses his mind. At this point, I doubt bringing him back is worth it at anything much above this deal.

AR is 88th in receptions and 83rd in yards Sutton is 44th and 28th and 2 years younger. Robinson gambled on foolish notion that he is a top 5 WR and threw craps. He will be looking for a 1 yr prove it deal or will sign for significantly less this off season.

Yes, the Bears have absolutely ruined ARob's career.

Can't really compare sutton to arob right now.

Arob is a much much more proven commodity who isn't coming off a terrible knee injury last year.

I love sutton, but that contract is a major gamble for them as well.

Arobs value is at an all time low, you would hope that he actually showed some signs of life going forward...but nah, gimme Gallup on the cheap.

Assuming Robinson could only command about what Sutton got, should we retain him at that?

If you’d asked me before the season, absolutely. I don’t know now, he’s really fallen off but this offense is complete shit. It feels like they are trying to feature Mooney, I don’t get it.

Fields also isn’t stupid with the ball mostly, Robinson isn’t a guy who gets a ton of separation.

A-Rob hasn't helped his chances of being called elite by dropping some very catchable passes the last two seasons.

He has never gotten elite separation. Not demonstrating elite hands over the last 2 years is going to hurt him. I still see him getting a nice contract but probably very close to what Bears were offering.

I would take Sutton over Robinson every day of the week. When the Bears signed Robinson he was recovering from an ACL tear too.

Robinson is older than Sutton and certainly hasn’t lit the league on fire over the last two seasons. This deal would be the absolute ceiling for a Robinson contract.

Yea, but no.

Outside of this season robinson has been the player that Sutton HOPES to one day be.

Right now absolutely not. His value has tanked and there is plenty of tape to evidence that.

He also has been fucked by a terrible situation, which is partially out of his control.

My guess, as stated previously on here by others, is he signs a 1year deal with a contender to try to skyrocket his stock before he hits 30.

You don’t sign players based on what they’ve done in the past. It should always be a forward projection. Robinson hasn’t done anything in a season and a half and he’s older. I’d take Sutton hands down and certainly wouldn’t pay Robinson a penny more than this contract.

Yet another reason to shitcan Nagy ASAP...see what ARob can do with any sort of reasonable OC & QB play. Hell, even Dalton is probably on par or better than what he's seen in his career. Should finish out the year with 100yrd games again if so.

Very unlikely, but if this happens and the right new coach comes along, he could stay on a 1 year prove it deal?? If Pace is around, he might overpay market value to make it worth his while ?

Default option is ARob earns a 3rd Rd comp pick, maybe 4th - IDK the contract #s needed for each.

Bears are very unlikely to get a comp pick for Arob unless they sign very few free agents.

Dude is tied for the 2nd-worst league average separation with 1.9.

Sutton signed a 4 year, 60.8M deal (34.9M guaranteed).
This past cap strapped offseason an also 28 year old Kenny Golladay signed a 4 year, $76M deal with $40 guaranteed.

Golladay is currently the 7th highest paid WR and Sutton will be 16th, so let's not pretend they are the top end of the WR market.

I know he's a bit older that Sutton and not as big, but personally I think Robinson is the better WR. I've posted all their stats below. There's no question that ARob has done it better and been more consistent.

bye bye robinson, he is not going to get a 2nd franchise tag and i can see the bears giving him an even lower offer given this season so i assume he'll walk and bears wont even get a comp pick because it'll likely be a 1yr prove it deal...never really thought he was worth 20 a season...

Yes, the Bears have absolutely ruined ARob's career.

More like shitty Bears QBs made him think he was an elite WR because they force fed him the ball. Good QBs spread the ball around.

The lack of separation and dropping catchable passes has bitten Robinson the last 2 seasons. Also I believe he is not going hard due to 1 year deal. Now either we will see improvement due to losing a bigger contract or he truly has lost a step.
