Last year, I was very high on Hamler and we picked up Mooney.

Mooney had what I had wanted in Hamler, just a few rounds later and in spades. I don't think Mooney had a drop last season. I'm not sure. I think he caught every ball that touched his hands. I've already eaten crow on Hamler.

This year, I wanted Elijah Moore. Now, he's going to save Wilson's ass in NY. But, from what I'm hearing and seeing, it looks like Dazz may be what E. Moore was to UNC: a chain moving guy that can get receptions in bunches. If he can do what Mooney did to Hamler to any extent, I'll be a happy happy dude.

This is the best analysis I have seen of him. The narrator's voice is boring but you get a good feel for Newsome that matches the scouting report. What you see is a guy that varies his route speed well and that is how he wins. He also does a really good job of making his breaks the minute he gets the CB to bite on a stutter or a fake.

Now he will need to be more precise and clean up some of the false steps he takes from time to time but there is enough there that he reminds me of another 6th round pick who was a PR and slot guy ie Antonio Brown. Now he may never reach the levels Brown did but he has the same type of energy and speed variation that allows him to play faster than he times IMO. Again it is a question of how much he can refine his route running to be as reliable as Brown was in his prime.
That video is much more palatable if you speed it up to 1.25x playback speed. Note that at 2:08 when he eats up the cushion, he's going against a Florida State CB. Dem Flawda boys can run now...

Thanks for this! I finally had a chance to watch the vid. I like this guy.

I don't understand why that QB is considered a first rounder, but that's another story.

I like how crafty he is in his moves, quite cerebral, and I can understand your AB comparison. It's there. Again, he has what I wanted in Elijah Moore, but not at the volume that Moore had. This was a good pick.

Howell is what Trubisky would have been if he were a 3 year starter. If he puts up a similar year to this year then he is top 5.

Oh, I’m not saying you’re wrong. It’s just I see some moments where I’m like, how’d you miss that.

Dazs is right, is breaking past his man, Howell rushes the inside read mesh handoff. This is the kind of RPO read that he has to make.

I can't reconcile his 40 time on pro day and his highlights. Literally, two totally different things. Will be interesting to see what happens on the pro level.
The difference between game speed in full gear and track speed in shorts.
