The Cubs have Martini, Weick and some guy named Wisdom on the roster. All about 30 yrs old and going nowhere in MLB. Gordon's legs alone should warrant bringing him over any of these three schmucks.

LHP Justin Steele (right hamstring strain)
Expected return:
TBD
Steele is participating in on-field agility work to build up his leg strength.

Well Dee would be better than Wisdom.

I'm kinda why not at this point. Can back up Happ and battle Sogard for 2B.

Read in the paper this morning that they're estimating 3-4 weeks. It looked awfully painful, they may be right.

I'm pretty sure with Heyward/Hoerner/Duffy/Steel all with Hammy injuries that they will all be going to lower body strengthning. Yoga baby.

I would guess the best action is to move Bryant to 3B and Happ to RF and Gordon to CF. 2B platoon Sogard and Bote.

Then let things play out. Injury was a major concern going into this year with most players only being active for 3 months doing the baseball grind. Injury is going to be the driver going forward

NBC Sports Chicago’s Gordon Wittenmyer tweets that Hoerner underwent an MRI this morning. Meanwhile, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports that outfield Rafael Ortega is leaving the Cubs’ Iowa affiliate to either join the taxi squad or the big league club, which could serve as further evidence that an IL trip for Hoerner is on the horizon.
