Please tell me someone else caught this last night (I'm assuming what was said exactly, other than the last phrase which was undeniable and obvious through lip reading):

Just before the puck drop, camera right on King --

Ref 1 skates by (you can see the stripes in the reflection of the glass): "Good luck, Coach."

King: nods head, "yeah thanks."

Ref 2: "Welcome to the NHL, Coach."

King: nods again, "Hey, thanks buddy."

Immediately after 2nd ref skates away, --

King: "Fuck off."

???

I'd love to see that, for the entertainment value, if there's a Youtube link or something.

I know, I've been trying to find it. I saw it live obviously, but they also played it a bunch on the post-game show with Pat Boyle as well. I was kind of shocked they kept showing it.

Least the guy had a long and fairly successful career in the NHL. Definitely gives him cred

He actually has the presence of a coach on the bench. Much more Q than Doogie Howser

...The kid in Little Big League had more of a coaching presence than Colliton.

Yup. Kaner was actually asked about this before King's first game; he kind of joked that he had to look up King on the internet, but then he specifically mentioned that he saw King had like 800 games/600 points and how that did make Kane take note that this is a guy who's been around and knows the game. Players want to play for a veteran who knows what they're going through and has been what they're going through.

Gaudette to waivers I don't like as much, but its a numbers issue and he's borderline/redundant.

Still, he's big and versatile and I think he belongs on somebody's 4th line.

Gaudette was claimed by Ottawa, not surprised someone claimed him.

Lines for the game tonight:
I really wish King would stop fucking with the lines so much. More specifically, he should keep Dach at center with Debrincat and Hagel. That line was fine. Those three guys have the most potential to be the future of this team. I just don't understand why you wouldn't keep them together, let them build some damn chemistry longer than 2-3 games.

Maybe he's trying to emulate the Q-O-Matic '76 line mixer.
