Trade #20, Jaylon Johnson,2022 2nd Rd and Akiem Hicks to LV for Carr, Then use the $10M saved on Hicks to sign Watt to a 3 yr $33M ($24M guaranteed)contract?
$12M SB
$4M 2021 Cap# $8M
$8M 2022 Cap# $12M ($8M to cut)
$9M 2023 (non guaranteed) Cap# $13M ( $4M to cut)
What value does a one year(contract) 31 year old Hicks(UFA 2022) hold for the Raiders? The only way this makes sense for them if they are trying to accumulate picks and make a run at Watson and think they have a shot this year.
How are you "saving" any money if you take on Carr's 20 mil contract, and then dump Hicks @ a 10.5 cap hit? That is a net loss of cap space of 8.5 mil.
Your much better off addressing the WR position or O-line then signing Watt.
I think Jaylon is almost untradeable to the extent of if you hold him one more year, he can replace Fuller, or at the very least appreciate greatly in value. Be better of throwing Monty in that deal, saying hell to the no on signing Watt, and then yes. At least your not crippled moving forward, and Carr should still hold some value next year if a new GM steps in and wants to tear it down. If Wentz steps in, and has another shit year, he would hold zero trade value in 2022.
