To me, Alshon has already proved his worth. I can't see how the Bears let 17 get away, but I'm curious what the other posters think. 5 minutes until Escobars army tells us how Alshon is a number 2 and the team doesn't want to pay him......

Nah, we'll trade him for a 4th and give up a 2nd in the process.

The Baerzs should be able to resign him cheap because he's just a #2 WR.

I would hope so. I am assuming that re-signing Ashlon was the number one reason Marshall was sent to New York. That nine million should be sliding over to Jeffrey the next couple of years...not an aging Brandon Marshall.

He wants #1 wr money, is he on the same level as Dez Bryant? No, If the guy we just drafted is what we think he is, he's the #1. Can't pay 2 guys #1 money. Yes White will be on his rookie contract. AJ is a real good # 2, someone will probably give him #1 money, I love the guy but he isn't worth #1 money.

I'm sure his agent is telling him he can get #1 money. A #1 wr needs to have the speed to stretch the field he doesn't.

I guess you two are already on board for some problem at wide receiver. White will compete and he has a better skillset than most dbs or wrs. He needs to play, but he has his legs underneath him. I don't know what the deal was with Marshall - apparently he exhibited the same sort of out of control behaviour he has. Patience is not the language of large contracts.

I think they'll pay him... He won't break the bank. He's not that kind of guy. How much he gets paid depends quite a bit on this coming year anyways. It is the reason they got rid of Marshall. Move Marshall, draft his replacement and you have 2 bookend WR's that will dominate for years. Plus... because of the way White and Jeffery are staggered, they both won't be getting TOP money at the same time. By White's 5th year option, Jeffery will be on the back end of his first big contract so hopefully they'll be able to work out a 2nd contract with him that will drop the cost down some... or they move on and draft a younger version... Optimistic thinking?
