I find it hilarious when internet idiots go online and make fun of athletes for being fat.

Oh cut the crap. I certainly am not making fun of Roquan. I want him to succeed. The only idiot is someone who isn't a little concerned about how that obvious weight gain could possibly affect his endurance, speed, coverage ability, and propensity to leg injury. People had the same concerns about Urlacher at one point when he looked overweight in an offseason photo, and surprise-surprise, sucked in that regular season. Maybe that weight will help him with durability- there's no question that this is a brutal sport and his hard on the body. But to pretend that it's not going to have any impact at all, or to lash out at others for bringing it up in conversation, is pulling a bag over one's eyes.

Agreed. Roquan's game is more speed and being the first at the point of attack. Coming into camp at 23 years old with a 30 year old dad bod is a little concerning. He does not look like a 23 year pro athlete.

The only thing these guys have to do in the off-season is stay in reasonable shape. Simply, don't balloon in the 6 months you're away.

I got the photo off of Reddit. Your point was made in that thread too, but many ppl think he looks bigger than usual.

I don't follow college football, but some ppl on Reddit were saying he had the same issue at Georgia...often showing up at the start of the season outta shape and overweight.

My thinking is...now that he's pro, he's not going to be able to keep getting away with what he could in college. It will catch up to him. Other players are working much harder than him, and he could add further damage the perception that Pace sucks at picking high draft picks.

I'm sure the coaches and Pace are not happy with how he showed up this week.

Difference is one has actually played at a high level, the other not. I am more concerned with his head than 10 extra lbs.

I agree. He came into the NFL known for his work ethic but its strange what money will do to a person. Just like Marvelous Marvin Haggler said "It's tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5am when you've been sleeping in silk pajamas”

That picture of him on the boat with his shirt off looking soft af is concerning. Speaks volumes to his work ethic.

He will never reach his potential.

Yep. That's my point. Roquan is the type of dude that could be a league leader in tackles year to year and make a few pro-bowls. What I'm afraid is going to happen, is he'll be a vanilla starter for the Bears for the better part of a decade and end up retiring on another team.

I mentioned he didn't look in the best shape when that porn star video leaked.

Was worried about it back then, now I'm even more so.

Guy looks like he hasn't worked out at all the entire off season.

And how the fuck do you know he's out of shape??? Oh that's right, you don't! And the irony is, that it's most likely people WAAAAAY out of shape assuming he's out of shape. It's stupid, but there are a lot of those on here.

Roq is just a weird cat. He held out cause he wanted some clause in his contract to not be fined for helmet on helmet tackles (new NFL rules). He got his IPAD (playbooks) given to him by the Bears stolen out of his car. And this year he just looks soft af like he never lifted any weights, lol.

We'll see how things unfold for him this year.

Guys it’s a summer Sunday afternoon! Play off hockey is on! The NBA is back! Enjoy life. Watch some sports. Go for a walk. The season isn’t happening one way or the other. This anger isn’t good for the soul.

How can you show up to training camp that out of shape? The coaches must be pissed.

Some players have workout clauses in their contract as bonuses. Either Roq doesn't have one (motivation to train) or just preferred to party on the boat all offseason with porn stars that are only there to land a rich sugar daddy, lol

Most of us are not former first round draft picks who are paid $4.6 Million a year to be professional football players.

I'm not out of shape, I'm also not in NFL MLB shape.

It looks like neither is Roquan.

What I do know, is he looks pudgy. What I do know is that he spent his offseason partying.

The question is if its of concern, which, yes, it is. Just like a player coming into camp in the best shape of their life is something you applaud.
