If the Bears had been drafting real potential QB's not drafting a QB out of need would make some sense, we'd likely have Aaron Rodgers (who if memory serves, would've been way over drafted, good thing we didn't waste that pick and drafted Benson where he was rated) as our starter. Instead we have Grossman, we can ignore the QB position. We've have Cutler, we can ignore the QB position. Or if we don't ignore it completely we get Fales to waste space and string us along.
We haven't been making an attempt to upgrade the position, we haven't even been making an attempt to find a diamond in the rough.
So here we are with a #3 pick and in need of a QB.

Seems to me just as many of the self-appointed educated fans who believe in predicting the future with complete accuracy have been A-OK with ignoring the position which is what eventually puts you in the position of needing to over-draft out of need. So we basically have pick of the litter and we have the need.

If Bears waited for the perfect storm of having a high pick when they had a QB need and the sure thing was in the draft they would be even more of the Browns than they are.

You forgot Enderle, one of our other very rare attempts at getting the QB position right via the draft. Good Lord, this organization is so f'ing QB illiterate.

How sad is it that Orton with a Lovie team was the last backup draftee worthy of starting when the starter can't?

Yup and there's still coaches and fans who think building a killer defense will win us more games.

If your offense can't score touchdowns it doesn't matter how good your defense is you fuckin morons!

So have we come to the conclusion that drafting a QB #3 really isn't desperation?
