ESPN found a way to get huge ratings out of firing people. It's trending everywhere like we should all care. I bet they paid each of these people 5 grand to post "My final day is upon me, ESPN is the best" tweets. Notice how everyone adds a sap story about their child, family, car, etc.

Apparently this whole thing was more or less pointless. ESPN pays millions for rights to games obviously and the vast majority of those laid off didn't command large salaries.

All of this probably saves the equivalent to the first half, of the first MNF game. It's really nothing more than a symbolic gesture to Disney stockholders.

If they were really serious, the big money people would be toast.

I just read that ESPN will pay $8,000,000,000 for programming THIS YEAR. They've also lost 15 million subscribers since 2011.

I'll never understand the people who talk about "lefty politics is the reason why ESPN sucks now," when the simple math is staring them in the face.

ESPN has hired some questionable talent and they are getting rid of some talented people....however this is about money.....they can't compete for clicks as cheaply as other orgs can.......

makes no sense to pay those prices for cable. ESPN has to find a way to adapt. Just firing some employees will not solve their main problem

I hope Dan Lebetatds show got the axe. That was the most godawful excuse for sports radio I've ever tried to listen to.
