The winner of Italy/Belgium probably wins it all.

And chech/Denmark draw 90 minutes.

Switzerland just gave a clinic on what not to do for PK's. Truly awful attempts here. It was like watching Trubisky trying to make the right decision in an RPO.

Italy is really damn good. Losing Spinazzola hurts though. He's playing fantastic.

Italy has rarely looked overmatched in this tournament. It's their tournament to lose. Spain has been great but has had elongated stretches of mediocrity.

England are getting hot at the right time. Sleep walked through the group stage but playing much better in the knockout rounds.

It's also the draw. They played a home game against Germany and got an average Ukraine team in the quarters. Still they have talent but I'm not sure they shed that underachieving label. Denmark is playing some inspired ball now

Spain exposed themselves as a national embarrassment before it got to that, failing to control play against 10 man Switzerland. Showing one minute of urgency in regulation. Showing no fire to finish the game until the final 15 when they lost momentum amid an influx of subs and formation changes.

If you can't control play against 10 man Switzerland and protect your ass, then you can't control this Italian squad who is fired up.

I guess Spain could be built to counter elite teams, and have just struggled to finish against the inferior in tilted affairs. It will be interesting to see what their attack looks like against an opponent who will push numbers forward. I doubt the Italians choose to respect them much, and instead run them off the ball and come full force like the first half against Belgium.

Good lord that was a nasty penalty by Jorginho. Skip, slow roll... on to the Final.

Was the Sterling penalty call the right call?

I don't think a trip to the finals should be decided by something that borderline. It could easily have not been a penalty. Let them solve it on the pitch.

Adding video so people can make up their own mind
