Hmmm, don't think any D coordinator would have fallen for that given the score, clock and distance.
And what's the play call? Mega Punt passing to an Olineman? Mega Punt running a sweep 15 yards from the endzone? Fake punts can work because you can hike it to RB/FB or pass to a gunner who's a WR. Fake FGs are much harder to design successfully.

When your on the 4 yard line, asking a punter to fit the ball into that small of an area is dangerous. Maynard has a handful of successful trick plays from Punts and FG formations. I remember two of them distinctly. One was a pass to Urlacher and the other was a crazy play design that looked nothing like a FG attempt. Neither being in the redzone.
I'm not sure what your point is. That because Maynard did it, Megapunt can too? Maynard was known for having a decent enough arm to make those plays. I don't know if Mega punt does or not.
My point was that considering the down, distance and score, it wouldn't have been a good idea. When Maynard hit Urlacher, it was from much further away which gave time for separation.
