That’s literally not what you said though.

Except it is. You and your cronies just sit around crying about our starting QB non stop and jerking off to the thought of having a different one.

Newsflash, the only one delusional enough on the board to think Mitch doesn't start in 2020 is Anytime.

I'd rather discuss the changes we can make on offense to get the most out of the guy who will be starting next year rather than cry and bitch nonstop about shit people already know.

I agree we need a new rb

RB isn't the issue. You could have put Zeke behind our oline and he would look like trash.

The issue was scheme and personel. Monty is a more than decent enough back to run out in an NFL offense. You don't need stars at the RB position, you do need stars on the oline and TE in this day and age of the nfl.

Almost like the easiest way to fix our QB problem is get a run game.

I agree, but I'm surprised that that you're so interested a pass catching TE who will be expensive when you also think improving the run game is the most important thing.

We are not going to spend big money on a TE......I believe the Bears like Burton assuming he is healthy unlike last year. I do see them getting a backup that can produce, just not a big money guy.

Which would you be interested in the Bears signing if they actually did get cut?

Cap Savings if Cut: TE

Jordan Reed, WAS, $8.5M
Jimmy Graham, GB, $8M
Greg Olsen, CAR, $7.9M
Delanie Walker, TEN, $6.4M
Vance McDonald, PIT, $5.6M
Tyler Kroft, BUF, $4.8M
C.J. Uzomah, CIN, $3.7M
Kyle Rudolph, MIN, $3.65M
Ed Dickson, SEA, $3M
Trey Burton, CHI, $1M

Me
D.Walker--only 1 year though cause of his age.
G.Olsen--1 maybe 2 years cause of age and injury history and if it's 2 years then guaranteed money is done after one.
V.McDonald--He'd probably be my top TE on this list.
K.Rudolph--i think he was underused by the Vikings and think he can do more then the stats he's put up the last few years, which still weren't horrible and that's with him sharing targets with two great WR's and last year with the two WR's and Irv Smith.

It was both. But mont is not good enough to be the main rb. He’s a complementary rb.

There are free agents as well.....

Ebron will come slightly cheaper and probably can be had on a 2 year deal. Probably 7m a year....that is about as much as I think we can spend additional on TE.....

If they are going to draft a TE high then Ricky Seals Jones may be an option as a backup. He'd be worth at most 1m a year. But he is an RFA so if the Bears wanted him they'd have to swallow a poison pill to keep cleveland from matching.

For me running back isn't a position to invest much. Give me two RBs who:

1. who are decent at running, pass blocking and receiving
2. Durable
3. On a cheap rookie deal, probably drafted in rounds 3-5

Repeat as necessary, invest real resources in the OL.

Here is the rough structure of a Hooper deal

4 years 39.5 million dollar deal/21 guaranteed/10 SB

Year 1: 5 GS/2.5 SB [7.5]
Year 2: 6.5 GS/2.5 SB [9]
Year 3: 8 salary/2.5 SB [10.5]
Year 4: 10.5 salary/2.5 SB [13]

This would be Travis Kelce, who never hit the market, plus a little inflation.

This would comply with the 30% rule if there is not new CBA

Really a 2 year 21 million dollar deal.
If we pay Kelce money for Hooper we are gonna be sad.

I'd love Ebron, I think he the more talented TE and he is allowed to get better with time and drop less passes.

If we can have Ebron for half of that commitment or less its a no brainer for me.

Besides QB, TE is the most important position in this offense. K.C. will tell you that, Philly will tell you that and NAgy as said it.

Having a functional offensive line is more important than a TE in every offense. It may be the most important skill position.
