I am only including major chains. If I missed one it can be added I believe Didn't include mom and pop hamburger joints or sit down only. Just think it is 11 PM and you just left the local bar and you have a case of the munchies. What drive through hamburger joint do you head for? For me without a doubt it is Carl's Jr with Jack in the Box a close second. If I have a colonoscopy appointment the next day or I am constipated I just head to McDonalds.

Carl's Jr burgers are about as close as you can get to being done on your own grill IMO. They are also the most expensive I believe.

Shake Shack and Portillo's. If you don't count either of those chains then probably Wendy's. There was a time I would have said Burger King but IMO it tasted much better when I was a kid ha.

I was basing the choices on having a drive through. Of course there are a lot of burger places better than those I listed in the poll but we would have a poll list 3 pages long. I am going to rephrase the actual poll question.

Steak and shake is decent midwest highway burg too. Basically shoops but everywhere.

I got salmonella from culvers. Also their cheese curds are garbage.
I haven't tried the salmonella, but their burgers and their service are far superior to Wendy's, Burger King, McDonald's, etc. You'll spend 1/3rd what you'll shell out at Five Slow Guys.

White Castle and Jack in the Box don't even qualify as burgers, do they?

Wendy's... In and Out, Carls Jr/Hardees, Jack in the Box... they're not in my area so I can't judge them.

I have never been a culver's fan and I don't get all the love for in n out. But I've only had the vegas location so maybe the California spots are better.

Five Guys is expensive too, but at least I know I'm getting a big ass burger and some delicious fries out of it. Shake Shack is expensive and delicious but the portions are small...plus their water cup is ridiculously small I have to make 5 trips to get water. Only talking about NYC though. Maybe it's different in other places.

If we're talking burger with drive through, I think Whataburger is the best. Does Steak'n Shake have a drive through?
I was in Cali for undergrad and I think In'N Out is overrated AF. I'd rather eat Wendy's and McDonald's over In'N Out.

As far as White Castle, idk how people like those burgers. I ended up there once when I was drunk but if I'm drunk, I'd rather be at Taco Bell if I'm doing fast food.
