I wonder if some people subconsciously want to blame the offensive line's performance for Fields' shortcomings as a QB, or just assume that because we all thought the line would be pretty bad coming into the year, that means they're bad.

That is precisely what's happening here.

For as long as I can remember, there's been a loud, vocal minority of Bears fans on the internet, willing to cast blame on everything but the QB. And this goes all the way back to Rex Grossman, as well. They will say it's the OL. They will say it's the lack of WR's. They will say it's the coaching staff. They will say it's the ownership. They will even say it's the fans fault for hurting their (the QB's) widdle feelings. Pretty much anything but what the rest of us can see from twenty miles away. It's almost as if they think these grown men are toddlers, incapable of properly wiping themselves when they use the bathroom. Like the QB should take no responsibility whatsoever for their failings. It's absolutely delusional.

But hey, that's just being a fan for some people.

You do realize that these numbers are skewed due to the sample size, right? Notice all of the QBs with limited passes near the top of that list? I'm guessing you've never taken a statistics class and math is not your strong suit.

We're talking about 11 games with Nagy and a 3 game sample size in a new offense that features Mustipher being pushed back into the QB's lap on every other pass attempt and EQ as WR1.

If that was true about the sample size then he would be bouncing around the list based on how many throws he does week to week and will eventually settle into his average.. Last week after 2 games he was at the top of the list at 3 seconds.. and after 3 games still at 3 seconds and at the top of the list again.

Also if your going to call someone a Special person.. double check your spelling ..

and yet his hurries is ranked 22nd so with the most amount of time to throw, with a low amount of hurries he still has a lot of sacks.. JF has terrible pocket awareness and runs into sacks a lot.. JF has played like garbage, thats on JF not the OL

Well i can't say for sure, but even Justin said it himself, he sucked and needs to be better. It's ok, he's a young QB with plenty of things to work on. Lots of new players, new coaching staff, new system... leads to lots of "thinking." And we know that QBs suffer when they're thinking too much out there and not just playing. Things could be a lot worse than they have been around him.

I'm not going to make excuses for him. He needs to be better. The thing that i liked most about Fields coming out though was his determination and resolve. He seems to be a gamer, like nothing can phase him, which makes me optimistic that he's going to figure it out eventually.
