He looks like he was possibly struggling mentally judging from some of his recent photos. Hope and pray this is not true, but if it is, his brain should be examined for CTE.

Update: It looks like it may have been his heart… while another report said it was the after effects of an auto accident. Either way, it’s just sad. Way too young. RIP??

Well, whatever (if anything) was ailing him, it's now over.

So sad - RIP. The game is violent and takes its toll on so many ex players. Maybe it wasn’t related to his career but the death rates seem to be much higher in pro footballers as they age. They live a life of fame and fortune but there is often a price - they are modern day gladiators.

Football is so brutal and it really does shorten your life.

I mean I know CTE and other ailments are real but I’ve never seen study comparing NFL players to regular people as far as just lifespan goes. Would be interesting.

RIP. That’s way way too young.

He was 33. While football has attributed to a lot of deaths I doubt a heart problem that results in death at that age has anything to do with football.

Maybe if he collapsed on the court like Hank gathers or that Celtics player back in the day. He was retired though. Sounds like he died in the freaking shower.
