Anyone else ever wonder if they're listening to a hockey game or just some weird obituary channel?

I get the birthday shout outs.... fun... might make someone's day.

I don't get the obituary announcements.... what is the purpose?

Don't people watch sports to be entertained? To not think about the perils of life?

At least the cancer announcements... Edzo had it, he empathizes and tries to put out an uplifting message.

But seriously the obituary ones seem useless to me.

Yeah, it's one thing to mention if a former player passed away, and recognize that, but people that 99.8% of the audience has no clue about is weird.

All I know is if someone close to me dies...

And one night I turn on the Hawks to escape the pain of my loss.

I just hope Edzo and Foley are there to remind me that my close family member or friend is dead.
