BOURBONNAIS -- Devin Hester's groin pull, which Bears coach Llovie smith downplayed Sunday night, is keeping him out of practice for a fifth straight day.
Hester was in shorts without pads Monday as his teammates began practice. A team official described Hester as "day-to-day," but if he doesn't return soon, his availability for Saturday's preseaso opener at San Diego was be in doubt.
Cornerback Zack Bowman (right knee) remains out after leaving Sunday's practice. Linebacker Brian Iwuh (knee) was doing stretching but wasn't going to practice. That's a sign he could come back soon.
