He might not make it this year, but he’ll be in it. He changed the game. Players would tackle him and jump up like they just made the play of their entire careers.

Mother fucker finally.

He SHOULD be a first ballot HoFer.

First ballot are often people who changed the game when they played.

They had to CHANGE THE KICKOFF RULES because of Devin Hester. That is first ballot impact.

Rooting for him all the way.

The only time in my 60+ years of watching Bears football that I got chills up my spine was Hesters KO return in the Superbowl. It was electric!

Mathis should get in. He's the all time leader with 47 strip sacks.

Now, if we consider from them only 4-8 can be elected to the hall of fame:

  • Offensive tackle Tony Boselli
  • Running back Eddie George
  • Wide receiver/kick returner Devin Hester
  • Wide receiver Torry Holt
  • Defensive tackle Richard Seymour
  • Linebacker Zach Thomas
  • Wide receiver Hines Ward
  • Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork

I say it should be 8, and here's the list that should go in.

They changed the kickoff rules because the wedge caused injuries. And then they changed the kickoff line to further prevent injuries.

You're a fucking looney tune dude.

Hester will not get in before Brian Mitchell and Mitchell probably never gets in.

Was it there like one PK in the Hall?

ST specialists are not voted in.

Remember when he ran the opening kickoff back in the SB and then Rex Grossman happened?
I remember Dungy being asked over and over for two weeks if he was going to kick to Hester or not. The most exciting play of my lifetime.

This is the strongests argument to make against Hester.
As a homer, I like to think it doesn't hold up though.
Does Mitchell deserve the HOF? Absolutely. His AP yard are 2nd only to Jerry Rice. But that is a knock on the Hall and not Hester.

Hester scored. A lot. And broke the record. I actually think Hester and Peanut get in.

But one thing is certain Hester changed the game. There were no more quick piss breaks when he took the field during kicks. It was must see TV.
