Largest earthquake to hit NC in over 100 years. 5.1 about 9km down about 100 miles from me. Not sure I've been rattled like this before... Yea, never lived in CA except my first 3 mo... no recollections there...

I believe Illinois had a 5.0 in 2007 or 2008. I remember I was sleeping with my window open and was shook awake at the very end of the quake, having no idea it was an earthquake that woke me up at 4 am or whatever it was. Later found out on the news.

Edit: Second largest quake on the Eastern Seaboard in recent times.... apparently.

It woke me up in upstate South Carolina but just rolled over and went back to sleep lol. Being from CA everybody being so freaked out about is rather amusing though.

Asked my sister in Charlotte if she elt it and she replied "No, because were in SC atthe beach, but our neighbors did."

The one in Illinois was not far from St. Louis. I remember that one as my daughter yelled that "something was shaking her bed". I may have slept thru it otherwise.
