If bears are picking top ten next year with their pick, that would mean fields has failed. Think we are in the 20ish range next year. But if we are top 10, I would think we are trading up to take a QB.

JF or the offensive staff? What role does the offensive staff play in all this?? How do we judge if they are doing their job?

Our judgement does not matter, it's POLES that runs the team, and if he believes it's shit coaching more than shit play from Fields, he'll run the coaches out of town before he picks a 1st round QB...

Just for reference, the 9-8 teams from last year are picking basically 18-21 (Bucs taken out. 8-9 teams are picking 14-18 (Bucs added in). We'd have to be 10-7 or better to be picking beyond 20, most likely.
Thanks. For me a 8 win season is the minimum. Any less would be a disappointment to me. Feel free to disagree.

Is there a mediocre and/or declining veteran wide receiver the Bears could maybe get in the trade down? How about Tampa Bay hands the Bears Mike Evans instead of anything actually valuable. Then we post the picture of Ryan Poles talking into his Nokia.

Actually I think after two failed high draft picks in a row you'll be well overdue for the "big trade for a veteran" stage of the Bears quarterback carousel life cycle.

It doesn’t necessarily mean Fields has failed. There are other outcomes that could happen for the Bears to pick top 10 next year.

Poles trade back a lot last year, trying to get more younger players. It would not surprise me at all if he felt that gaining picks (likely pretty good one too) would be more important than any single player....

He only has 1 year of history, plus the trade back this year.... but trading back seems to be his MO....

Which QB would they target? I don't think the qbs we would want would be available.

Curious what are your expectations or bare minimum you think would be acceptable to you for Justin to achieve. Stats and standings wise.

Fields needs to be MVP next year otherwise move on and draft J.J. McFarthy.

A lot can factor into this question. The bare minimum for me is Fields keeping this team in games. He showed that ability last season but the supporting cast was so pathetic. I’m not really a stats guy.

The trade to make is 9 for 17 and 32. Teams more likely to trade current year 2nd round pick rather than future fierst unless you trading at end of first round or early into 2nd round.

Having said that if Tampa makes that offer you jump at it.

If fields threw for 2500 yards ran for 800 threw at a 63 percent completion rate and the team goes 5-12. Would you be happy with what fields has done?

What a question. Nobody can answer it.

Scored they 45 and got 50?
Or 10 to 14?
How was run game or play calling?
Injuries?

Again a lot of factors go into it. How many points is the offense putting up? How many points is the defense giving up? How close are the games? Etc etc etc.

What if the offense is putting up 25-30 points a game but the defense is giving up 30-35 points? Are you going to blame Fields for all those losses?

No one should care about Fields stats if he is keeping the team in games and giving them an opportunity to win.

You do know the ignore function works both directions. Instead of whining incessantly that they should put you on ignore why don't you just put them on ignore.

Problem solved.
