They were equally as shit in Pass pro as they were as good in run pro.

Also, the WRs are all blocking specialists and it wasn't just the O-Line helping the run game.

Poles and Flus designed the team this way, knowing they would have to win this way due to the dearth of talent.
Honestly I didn’t think they were as bad as you’re making them out to be but obviously you’re the expert here.

Making a moronic statement just so you can double down on saying run pro, like it's a normal thing.

LOL.

What about the WR run pro?

The complaint has been changed from the "o-line sucks" to just "pass blocking sucks."

Even though:

Not making any excuses for Fields because he looks bad (due to his performance) but, that number is skewed. Because, the Bears pass the ball way less then any other team in the NFL. If the Bears passed the ball like a normal NFL team that number would go way down.

They all suck. Qb, o line, receivers. But we have a shiny new safety!

This sounds kind of BSish.

If everyone is saying how horrible the Bears Pass Pro is, there should be lots of examples of every single offensive lineman messing up. Now, if there are so few pass plays, just one pressure or sack allowed would become a large percentage of total plays so the rating would plummet with any single mistake, dropping a players Pass Pro rating immediately. The more Pass Pro plays, the more towards average the rating would be.

If the Bears are so bad at pass protection, why aren't the numbers WAY below average right now, with less plays than other offensive linemen?

Funny how some Bears offensive linemen can be AWFUL at Pass Pro while being rated top 10 in Pass Pro rating.

This isn't like golf where I could get my Gold Master's championship green jacket because I had less strokes than any other player with my 50 strokes because I quit after completing the first hole, taking 50 strokes to complete it. That would be awful golf by me, yet I would end up with a top 10 (first place) score, since I quit before I took another 50 strokes to complete hole #2.

Is anyone actually buying into this though? Jones the 5th best pass block tackle in the league lmao give me a break
It was thru the first 2 weeks, not counting yesterday's game. No one thinks the Bears have the best pass blocking in the league...but they haven't been as bad as expected.

I think our fan base is stuck thinking this group is still as bad as last year even though there's been a lot of changes. Also, it's kind of a convenient way to shift some blame away from Fields.

But as of now, the o-line has been better at blocking than many of us would have expected. We'll see how it goes thru the season.

They have been outstanding at run blocking, minus the slop in SF. I think the interior has been below average to OK in pass pro, I think the tackles need a lot of work. Fields had some nice pockets to throw from yesterday, though but also had guys in his lap almost immediately. I don't recall many coverage sacks but honestly didn't care lol.

So I re-watched the game this morning.

I honestly feel very encouraged by what I’ve seen from the oline. Are they perfect? Hell no. There were 2-4 plays Fields had no chance on.

But that being said…. The pass blocking was perfectly good enough to score points with. On both INT’s there was a clean pocket.

The run blocking was incredible. A grade. Pass blocking I’d give a C+.

Furthermore I saw Getsy trying to give Fields those short easy passes people want to get him involved. He just missed em. And Mooney dropped one too.

Fields somehow even looked worse upon re-watching. That was just a dog shit game. Start to finish.

Fields is by far the biggest problem at the moment. I'm honestly watching the next few games to see if he has the yips - God I hope not.

TTNL mentioned at one point Mooney was staring at Fields, not out of frustration but outta concern. Like, does this dude have a concussion right now??

That's how bad he was.

You followed this same train of thought with trubisky and you were pretty excited when we got foles cause he can run the offense to perfection. You might be right posters are making the same excuse train like we did with past qbs we had hopes for. But you’re doing the same thing thinking a diff qb will prove this offense is better than what it is.

They did 'OK' in pass pro. Jones gets walked at times, Borom had his weekly whiff and Musty doesn't get much push but it's not unusual for most lines to have similar issues. Jones needs an offseason to bulk up, Musty will back up where he belongs, Borom still needs more work on hand fighting in pass pro but those issues aren't glaring nor unique to the Bear.

The run blocking is obviously a strength. Pass protection not so much but they are holding up. Good QBs always make the line look better the way they can manipulate the pocket.

this is not an excuse for Fields (yesterday) but a Laremy Tunsil would make a huge difference. You can see how much time Mills has v Fields.

The pass pro can be good at times. But Fields isn't doing them any favors
