Yup. I'd rather go 10-6 and miss the playoffs than 7-9 or 8-8. If we had a first round pick it would be a different story, but the difference between 5-6 picks in the 2nd round isn't worth the amount of confidence and progress it would mean for this team.

If we win out it means mitch took a step, and this offense did as well. Thats all I have wanted from this team since the New Orleans game(which is when I decided this season was shot).
And we still would get a 3rd place schedule.

If you think the run game/play action is why he’s good, then you haven’t been paying attention. Henry has been better because of Tannehill, not the other way around.

Obviously this is a pro-Mitch/anti-Nagy narrative driven post.
Tannehill can't run block though....

My favorite teams
Chicago Bears Nashville Predators ETSU Buccaneers, Tennessee Volunteers
Only if we are tied with Rams alone. If its a 3 way tie then head to head does not count...it goes by conference record in this case
Are people still thinking Bears get in the playoffs with same record as Rams?! It goes division rules, then head 2 head in every scenario. A quick google shows this.

But that's only for teams in different divisions. You can't have a 3-way tie with two teams from one division. You do a tiebreak to eliminate one of the teams in the same division, then apply the above standard to the ones who are left. That's why the Rams would win the tiebreak. Bears would win the tiebreak with the Vikings, eliminating the Vikings. Bears would then lose the tiebreak to the Rams b/c of head-to-head.

To Break A Tie For The Wild-Card Team
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

  1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
  2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.
Two Clubs
  1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
  4. Strength of victory.
  5. Strength of schedule.
  6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
  7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
  8. Best net points in conference games.
  9. Best net points in all games.
  10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
  11. Coin toss.
Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

  1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
  2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
  4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
  5. Strength of victory.
  6. Strength of schedule.
  7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
  8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
  9. Best net points in conference games.
  10. Best net points in all games.
  11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
  12. Coin toss
When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.

If it does indeed play out that our season was lost with the San Diego game (although the Raiders and Rams games are as much at fault most likely), it will be telling that the Kicker position cost us post season implications in back to back years. Since it will be indirectly correlated this year, I don't think Pace will get questioned as much as he should around the kicker position.
The meatball kicker takes are great. Guy didn't start missing at all really until he was injured, then missed more because he had to keep kicking with an injury, and now that he isn't injured - surprise, he's making them all again.

Several people have stated in fact in this thread the way a 3 way tie result would be handled with several different mechanisms and results. Obviously there can only be one true answer which also means people are stating things as fact which are inaccurate or incorrectly interpreted.
Toast is correct as he is using the same tiebreak that I noted in post 58.

Based on the above since the Vikes and Bears are in the same division you apply the division tiebreak to them first as only a single team from a given division can advance to the next step. The Bears then advance as if we win out we would have beat the Vikes 2-0 head to head. As the above notes, once 2 teams are left you go to the Two club tiebreakers.

Two Clubs
  1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
First step in the Two Club tiebreaker is head to head which Rams beat us so that is it. Rams get the wild card. It really is that simple.
