All I know is when Heyward was hurt, the Cubs were winning.

Putting Bryant at RF and Wisdom at 3b everyday is huge for the lineup. Heyward brings NOTHING.

JayHey on the year is batting .177 and a paltry .246 OBP, lol. This guy is an embarrassment to the lineup!!! 2 moar years of this trash.

Happ=Heyward=0.

WTF is going on with Wisdom. Lou Gehrig just turned Bote into Wally Pip.

June 6: Giants 4, Cubs 3 -- Wisdom just keeps hitting
Patrick Wisdom followed up Saturday's home run with a pair of blasts in Sunday's game in San Francisco. That gave him six homers in his past seven games. It also gave Wisdom seven homers in his first eight starts for the Cubs. That put Wisdom alongside Trevor Story (2016 for the Rockies) and Aristides Aquino (2019 for the Reds) as the only players on record with as many as seven homers in his first eight starts with a team, per the Elias Sports Bureau. Wisdom also tied a Cubs mark with seven homers in his first 15 games with the team. Donnie Murphy also achieved that feat in 2013.

INJURY UPDATES
Day to day

SS Javier Báez (right hand soreness)
Expected return:
Day to day
Báez exited the Cubs' 4-3 win over the Giants on June 6 after grounding out to end the seventh inning. The shortstop could be seen shaking his right hand as he walked slowly out of the box and back to the dugout. The Cubs announced that Báez was dealing with right thumb soreness, but manager David Ross added after the game that the wrist was also sore after the shortstop made awkward contact with the pitch from Dominic Leone. Ross said Báez would be re-evaluated prior to Chicago's June 7 game in San Diego. (Last updated: June 6)

OF Joc Pederson (right lower back tightness)
Expected return:
Day to day
Pederson exited the Cubs' June 5 game in San Francisco in the fifth inning after tweaking his back at the wall in left field two innings earlier. Pederson hit the wall awkwardly going back for a ball that Alex Dickerson hit for a home run. Pederson was out of the lineup on June 6, but manager David Ross said the outfielder was doing "much better." (Last updated: June 6)

10-day IL

OF Jake Marisnick (right hamstring strain)
Expected return:
June 7-9 series in San Diego
The Cubs were very encouraged by how Marisnick got through a series of running and agility drills on June 5 and planned to have the outfielder do light work on June 6. Manager David Ross said Marisnick is "in a good place" and could be activated during the Cubs' series in San Diego. (Last updated: June 6)

RHP Trevor Williams (appendectomy)
Expected return:
TBD
Williams had an emergency appendectomy on May 30. The pitcher had a followup exam on June 3 and all "went well," per manager David Ross. There remains no clear timetable for Williams' return. He played light catch on June 5-6 at Oracle Park in San Francisco. (Last updated: June 6)

LHP Justin Steele (right hamstring strain)
Expected return:
June
Manager David Ross noted that Steele threw a 35-pitch bullpen session on June 6 that went "OK," compared to a "very encouraging" mound workout earlier in the week. Ross said a big test will be to see how Steele recovers and feels on June 7, when the team is in San Diego. (Last updated: June 6)

3B Matt Duffy (lower back strain)
Expected return: June

Manager David Ross noted recently that Duffy has resumed light swinging, but the infielder has yet to add baserunning or fielding drills to his rehab work. On June 5, Duffy went through some running drills in the outfield in San Francisco. The infielder was placed on the 10-day IL on May 25. (Last updated: June 5)

RHP Alec Mills (lower back strain)
Expected return:
TBD
Mills -- on the 10-day IL since May 16 -- worked six shutout innings in another Minor League rehab outing for Triple-A Iowa on June 2. The right-hander struck out four and walked one, showing no ill effects of the back issue that flared last month. (Last updated: June 3)

3B David Bote (left shoulder dislocation)
Expected return:
TBD
Bote joined the Cubs in San Francisco and went through some agility drills pregame on June 2. Manager David Ross noted that Bote is "progressing well," but the infielder's timetable for return remains unclear. Bote landed on the 10-day IL after he dislocated his left shoulder sliding past second base on May 29. (Last updated: June 3)

2B Nico Hoerner (left hamstring strain)
Expected return:
TBD
Hoerner was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 26 after leaving the previous night's game with a hamstring strain that he sustained as he ran to first on a sixth-inning groundout. He fell to the ground in noticeable pain and immediately grabbed at his hamstring, but he was able to leave the field under his own power. (Last updated: May 26)

60-day IL

RHP Rowan Wick (left oblique strain)
Expected return:
TBD
Wick noted he “felt good” after a recent throwing session, manager David Ross said May 25. He’s eligible to return from the 60-day IL as early as May 31. (Last updated: May 25)

C Austin Romine (left wrist sprain)
Expected return:
TBD
Romine was transferred from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL on May 5. He won’t be eligible to return until late June at the earliest. (Last updated: May 25)

RHP Jonathan Holder (right shoulder strain)
Expected return:
TBD
On April 26, Holder was moved from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL. Though he is eligible to return on May 31, there’s no indication that he’s anywhere close to being back. Holder hasn’t pitched at any level in 2021. (Last updated: May 25)

Cubs third baseman Patrick Wisdom and Orioles outfielder/designated hitter Ryan Mountcastle have been named MLB’s Players of the Week presented by Chevrolet.

All-time winners: AL | NL
Called up from Triple-A Iowa on May 25, the 29-year-old Wisdom has put together a historic start to his Cubs career. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Wisdom is one of three players, along with Trevor Story (2016 for the Rockies) and Aristides Aquino (2019 for the Reds), who have hit as many as seven homers within their first eight starts with a team.
Six of Wisdom's big flies came within the past week, a span in which he went 10-for-23 (.435) with a 1.719 OPS to earn National League Player of the Week honors. He went deep twice last Monday against the Padres and repeated the feat with two homers Sunday against the Giants.

Wisdom is the second Cubs player to win the NL Player of the Week Award this season, joining Kris Bryant.

I love Wisdom.

The Cubs need more of Wisdom and Marisnick and less of Happ and Heyward.

But Wisdom has made a impact. So I would expect him in the plans now.

I would expect him in the plans for the next couple weeks. I could only hope we've lucked into a really good player and he will continue this and be a part of the future
