Ok so I have a question for you all... My girlfriend and I are switching to time warner from ATT u verse mainly because we're on uverse, paying for high speed and we're constantly testing out at 2.0 mbps download time. It's awful. I don't want to pay the rental fee for a modem/wireless router for time warner and was looking to buy my own. Preferably separate. Any suggestions? The internet that we are looking to get is really only going to give us 15 mbps but that's enough for what we do with the internet. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cable works on docsis standards, so you need the docsis compatible modem to work. As far as what version, and other features, you have someone here who works for time warner IIRC. That may help.. or they work for comcast. I don't remember.
