He got $17-million guaranteed which was pretty ridiculous at the time for a guy who never went over 1,000 yards in a season nor scored more than six touchdowns. I can't hate on the guy because he contributed at a decent level during the Super Bowl run. His best years were in Chicago and that's all I can ask of a third round pick who was a speedy number two WR who improved each year he played for the Bears.

I remember the offseason where the Bears had the option of giving Berrian an extension that year or saving the money and giving it to Briggs the following year. They went with the latter, thankfully.

Weems has been dreadful so far and I see no reason to keep him on the roster. Josh Morgan is so clearly the better receiver that Weems' only value is on special teams. He's a solid cover guy, but awful as a returner. I'd rather see anyone returning kicks than Weems. Fumbling a return is inexcusable, especially considering the rules changes. You just cannot afford to give up a possession like that.
