Unless I am mistaken, all we really saw him play was second or third line, never really mixed with Mack or Hicks, always second team snaps. Not like it will be much different now with Quinn, but I saw more in Irving than Fitts, or is it Pitts.

We don’t have the budget for more expensive depth.

It was Fitts.

As long as he's our 4th OLB or lower and not our 3rd them i'm fine with this.

Still a lot of guys out there. Some will be out of our price range and some will sit out there long enough to where we could end up getting them under $2 mil per and some even close to $1 mil per.

C.Mathews--Would love to get him for one year but we won't be able to afford him.
J.Sheard
A.Clayborn
Dion Jordan
Jordan Jenkins
J.Attaochu--Would actually be pretty happy with him as our 3rd.
B.Mingo
Cassius Marsh
A.Chickillo
N.Spence
Brooks Reed
A.Lynch--Please no but if that's what it comes down to then i'll deal with it.
P.McPhee--Yes that P.McPhee but as a 3rd i'll take him.

At this point I don't think Irving brings more to the table than a day 3 rookie, but with only a fraction of the upside. Bears in desperate need of a #3 OLB and I'm still hoping Pace finds $2m to throw at Attaochu to fill that spot.

loved his potential when he was first signed as an UDFA but I think he has topped out on his potential. He always shows during the pre season but then you put him against the real guys and he disappears.

I would more on to a guy like Vaughters over Irving right now

Also liked me some Vaughters last year, surprised he didn't get more playing time.

Vaughters flashed a little last pre-season. It will be interesting to see how much he improves after having a year to train in a NFL strength and conditioning program.
