Happ was lucky to catch that ball against the wall in deep center,6th inning. Him and Albert both suck at catching balls in the warning track. I understand it's a brick wall, but they're afraid of it and don't play it well at all.

And Almora makes an outstanding catch

It was much better than Happs. Right under the basket.
I still have visuals of those 2 blowing catches that should be made. They'll "usually" make the routine catches , but pay attention when they're having to chase one down in the warning track. Happ missed one yesterday.

Wrigley id one of the hardest OF to play. Almora is a great route runner to balls. Weak arm and doesnt have that head first mentality. Cant blame him but a lot of OF want no part of the brick

Grimm. I remember a bunch of us going back n forth on him in here. The guy has always been in need of a third pitch. He won't get a lot more chances with outings like today....he'll be out of baseball. Too bad, decent fastball....good curve but that's just not enough these days. Even an established pitcher like Hendricks added a curve for this year. These guys that are borderline really need to reinvent themselves a bit.

You're literally criticizing them when they both made very good catches.

After Happs catch when he was kneeling down in the ivy he was thanking his lucky stars after barely making the catch. He wasn't so lucky Saturday out in the warning track. Almora had some critical mistakes last season that he had no excuse making. They are both weak sauce CFs

Happ is a bad CFer. Almora is not

That didn’t happen much of 2019, which was statistically his worst defensive season — he posted negative defensive WAR and had awful zone ratings.

full story

After a dreadful 2019 that followed a brutal second half of 2018, Almora has little to no value on the trade market

Almora’s offensive numbers have been among the worst in baseball over the last year and a half and in 2019, advanced metrics actually rated him as a below-average defend
er.

The highlight catches have continued this year, only they are now accompanied by more blunders than ever before. Link
