I am curious why Hoerner isn't hitting leadoff? Seems a perfect fit.

Still fist pitch blast. Ala Sori. If Joc tees off 1st pitch I cool with it.

I'm not real well versed on what's going on as my game watching has been in bits and pieces all year. Ross seems to be doing a pretty good job but I'd really like to know what the deal is with Bote....top PHer, sure but a regular in the lineup? What the hell is that? Guy's hitting under .200 with an average at best glove. Why is Duffy sitting? Cub's could have a comfortable lead here but Bote...he swings at the 2nd pitch after Martinez has walked and beaned the bases loaded. Next time up with ducks on the pond....he's swinging at pitches ankle high. The guy is killing them tonight.

Duffy is a little dinged up so he's getting a few days off

I figured as much. Bote has hit .280 over the last 7 days which is on par with Duffy.

The biggest add via subtract is Heyward. Hope he drags out on this.

Steel is down with a hammy strain. Weick back up. I honestly hope they let Steel start at Iowa. I know that he is becoming a force with Nance and Thompson but he is a starter and grooming him for the 2nd half push.

Well things are getting interesting now. Cubs just walked up to the Stinkbirds and spanked them in their crib. Things are getting fun at last.

Watching the Cubs trounce the Cards on one TV while the Blues get murdered by the Avs on the other, in a room full of Cards and Blues fans playing poker. That is a nice way to spend a Friday night,

Yadi admiring his fly out. Shades of Joc Pederson.

After scoring 12 on Friday, unsurprisingly, the Cubs are unable to score mor ethan one against a rusty starter and middle relief. Let's not let them have this 2-1.
