Yeah his bad play has generally been due to nagging injuries. I don't think he'll ever avoid that long term

agreed. Anything more than a 3 year deal is a pass for me as well. Don’t want to see him making 30 mil a year at age 33+ when that bat speed slows down

I'm assuming with Boras, he's going to be one of these guys looking for 7-10 years

oh for sure. I’d be shocked if Bryant was open to a 3 year deal. But that’s what I would offer...something around 3 years 75 million. Otherwise, take the comp pick and move on and let someone else have the albatross of a contract

umm no, I was the one that brought up his babip and walk rate. And I mentioned his career numbers and with risp. So no, I didn’t give one metric. You’re impossible to have any rational discussion with, as you’re constantly all over the place and making shit up. Thus, it’s really my fault for trying to engage with you. I’ll refrain from making that mistake again in the future

I did agree with you on his clutch factor and did say that it makes him more ideal for high pressure PH situational because well he is good at it. Plays off of emotion? What every you want to call it. It is a trend of his that dates back to his rookie season. He is the guy that makes the big hit.

I have never taken that away from him. My argument is exploit it. Play to that strength. Then as his production increases then increase playing time. Not increase playing time to increase production.

It doesn't work that way. If it did then Happ would not be sitting at under .200 BA also.

Regardless, if Bote was closer to 100 wRC+ I would t argue any stat. There would be no point. But this is the same argument made about Almora and his 60 wRC+. The glove love. Look at his Hussle. While he has meaningless PA's.

10/300 IMO.

Cubs could do 10/200 then 10 years after at 10M installments to allow a better support cast. Or 25M with 5M after for 10 for less overhead down the road.

Boras has worked deals like this and Bryant has that talent level to justify it

No he doesn't. I don't want to ever see a 10 year contract unless it is a mookie or trout type player. Bryant would be an albatross at some point like harper and Stanton will

I enjoy the extra innings starting with a runner on 2nd. Makes for some exciting, “nail biting” baseball.

if teams would take on a lil small ball, they could dominate in extras

No outs and runner on 2nd. Heyward facing a lefty...he should of been bunting the runner to 3rd IMO
