May 25: INF Matt Duffy placed on 10-day IL (lower back strain)
Duffy only appeared in one of the Cubs’ past four games due to what manager David Ross recently described as “bumps and bruises.” His placement on the 10-day IL is retroactive to May 23. This month, Duffy has posted a .737 OPS in 17 games, playing primarily as a third baseman.

So I was looking over Wisdom. 29. 2 times in the minors AAA he has hit 31 HR's. Maybe just let him run with it. Who knows TBH.

Leave it to that POS Brothers to break the streak....ok, I know that it had to end sometime but I would've bet the house that it would be Brothers and his fucking walks.

Bote has a separated shoulder. I wouldn't expect him back until Aug.

So that being the case they might as well promote Gorden-strange and put Bote on the 60.

It has been a tough stretch and somehow they keep winning. It is pretty amazing.

CHICAGO -- The Cubs must have walked under a ladder somewhere along the line, because their bad injury luck continued following Sunday’s 5-1 loss to the Reds.

It was revealed that Trevor Williams, scheduled to start Monday's series opener against the Padres, had an emergency appendectomy on Sunday morning and will be out indefinitely.

“Our starters have been throwing the ball well. Obviously, with Trevor going down, that's a hit for us,” Jake Arrieta said. “We wish him a speedy recovery.”

Williams joins a long list of injured Cubs as May comes to a close.
