The NFL is a lot like the WWE… and the NFL simply could not let a founding franchise in a major market go to zero. In fact the NFL felt that they were losing the Bears and the city of Chicago.
The NFL created the plot line and forced other teams to pass on Fields, then persuaded the NY Giants to take Chicago’s offer.
In short you can thank commissioner Goodell (Vince McMahon) for this newfound excitement for your beloved Bears! ??
