It’s not very often both starting OT are cut in the same off season. A typical Pace move. Keeping Jimmy Graham and his salary is another terrible move by Pace as it’s effected our OL options as well.

I'm not trying to make an argument that Leno was good and shouldn't have been replaced. I'm making the argument that it's extremely risky to go from a starter to a rookie without any competition/depth.

Just to put those PFF numbers into context:

Leno 2020-2016 = 74.6, 58.6, 75.5, 78.7 and 70.1
Massie 2020-2016 = 72.6, 63.2, 71.8, 65.0 and 66.8

Ifedi 2020-2016 = 65 (guard), 56.2, 56.5, 51.7 and 51.3.

I've said this before, but you guys weren't happy with Leno and Massie. There's a real possibility that a rookie Jenkins and Ifedi are worse AND there's really nothing in terms of depth to help.
Leno's 2020 #s are inflated due to the interior defenders being closer to the QB and getting there 1st, LOL. They actually ran and rolled away from him in the last few games which also helped his grade. I thought Ifedi's clearly played better at T than G in the 7 (6regular season) games he played last year and at least as well as Massie's average but it was a short stint. He's clearly more mobile.

Massie thought he'd get PAID when he was let go due to the weak T FA market. he signed for under $3m. It's not just him and has a lot to do with the weak cap this year whioch is the very reason cuts like this are happening all over the league.
“But the truth is they can’t afford me,” he said. “And they’re definitely not going to be able to afford me once I hit the market because there are no tackles in free agency. As of today, I don’t see me being a Bear next year. I liked where I was at, but today changes that.”

he should have cut Graham and Hicks to keep Fuller a Bear
Hicks is a better player and the heartbeat of the team. I like Fuller and appreciate the way he developed. He is no lock down corner. He needs to play off so he can look at the QB. Even at his best, he’s not comfortable pressing and flipping his hips to cover. In 2018, he benefited mightily from a relentless pass rush as did Prince.

The Bears didn’t lose Ramsey or Gilmore.

he will need to be replaced in 2-3 years anyways

you might as well get a higher comp pick for him now.
Holy shit you're fucking stupid. Just shut the fuck up now and stop digging a deeper hole for yourself.

Leno needed to go. Bringing in some depth for LT would have been a good idea, though.

They seem to be being extra cautious with Jenkins. I'm not terribly worried about him. I dunno.

I believe he is in his last year on his current deal. By letting him walk after the season, they will get a comp pick. Could be wrong about his contract though

and it is still stupid now. Pace shot himself in the foot, yet again.

to think he lost kyle fuller because of his poor cap management in the same offseason… that’s pretty bad.
Eventually you'll learn how a cap works. It takes much more time for some.
