This seems like a team-freindly deal which contracturally might allow for better free agent signing flexibility for Pace to be able to further enhance the offence in coming seasons which makes me a happy boy.
It's slot money for where he was drafted dummy.

Does Rookies negotiate their contracts?

I thought it was same as NBA.

I suppose they could hold out. But Fields is playing a cash cow position anyways, all he has to do is play good during his rook contract and make bank.

If 2nd Tier QB's like Ryan Tannehill can bank 4 years/118 million, well you know. At the rate these qb contracts are going up, someone is going to command 50 million per year soon, lol.

There's not a lot of future picks to sign and some of the guys he's drafted the last couple years might not be worth a second contact.

Monty, Cohen, AntMill...heck, what if the Jaylon Johnson injury concerns are real? Then you got Kmet & Daniels really needing to step up too.
And there is surely an asteroid with Halas Hall's name on it, talk about dead money!!
