They'd probably still boo him since he didn't win a super bowl. The #1 qb for eagles fans is nick foles.

Amirite @Pegger?

Foles probably is the all time favorite, but that's because he was a big part of bringing the city a championship. He'll never pay for a cheese steak or beer in Philly, so the fan base really appreciates all he's given.

When talking about McNabb, many really sympathize with him the way Philly booed him when he was drafted and then how Rush Limbaugh did his 'black QB' thing, but he was sort of a weasel. McNabb came with a lot of drama and despite him always showing a big smile and saying the right thing when the cameras were on a lot of Philly just felt he wasn't being authentic. Even the TO breakup many outside thought that was TO going crazy, but McNabb really didn't do himself many favors in handling things properly to the media or his teammates.

Anyway, Philly is a working class town. They love guys like Allen Iverson, Charles Barkley or Brian Dawkins who are very passionate, but also don't pull any punches. After a while McNabb just came across as fake, which that fan base didn't like.

It also didn't help that after he retired he put his marketing degree to work and became one of those 'insiders' who will easily sell their former soul to benefit their new career.

Anyway, I'm mixed on how much I like McNabb. Loved him when he was playing, but didn't live in Philly, so wasn't connected to what the city thought of him. Afterwards there was a lot of shit talking, which originally I disagreed with, but now think it's fairly valid.

I've always been a Wsox guy. Good guys wear black.

But they really shoud've brought Ozzie back with this team instead of La Russa. Team is full of Hispanic guys, totally made sense to bring Ozzie back. Didn't understand the La Russa move at all
LaRussa was one of the first, if not the first, manager who made a point to speak Spanish fluently. This is such an odd complaint to keep seeing levelled against him.

Just wondering your thoughts, after McNabb left Philly and was bad for 2 other organizations was that a reflection of who he really was as a qb and Reid had propped him up in Philly or was he just washed up by that time?

I always wondered because Reid really has been incredible with qbs. I don't remember how long he was out of football after Philly but I sure would have loved him in Chicago. He undoubtedly would have solved qb within a year or two for us

Yeah, his career really took a downward spiral after he left, but he was 34 and 35 years old in those seasons, so was at the end anyway. Looking at his last 6 seasons in Philly he missed time in 5 of those seasons, so he was showing his inability to stay healthy leading up to being traded away.

Overall, in his 13 seasons in the NFL he never passed for over 4000 yards in a single season AND only eclipsed 30 TDs once. He was good, but never 'top 5' type guy. I really feel much of his success was the result of how well Reid coaches the QB position, but it's a chicken/egg type discussion because for that long stretch all of their success was shared.

Anyway, the entire McNabb/Reid era feels a little empty because they were so good for so long, got to the big game, then lost. Personally I was really happy to see big Red win one with the Chiefs. Despite some flaws, he's a great leader of men and knows how to build a team.

The inner city baseball rivalry is the dumbest thing in all of Chicago sports and that's saying something. Get ready to bump this when he goes to a Sox game.

Also, why wasn't he booed like Mitch was at the UC? I thought da windy city fans r da worzt an dey put da presha on da yung QB?

Maybe even the dumbest fanbases know a wasted pick when they see one. We love Justin Fields.

Like Mccllelan, it was obvious Trubisky would be dog trash from day 1.

Did anyone see how cool Justin looked in Sox gear yesterday?

Sox gear and throws out the first pitch.

The Cubs gave him upper deck seats.

Really does not seems like the North Side did much at all for him, but that team ain't doing much at all besides racking up another L

North side can't afford to give him good seats bro.....they are worried about saving money so they can afford to build a sportsbook.
