Cubs need to approach the Billie Beane philosophy. He will never be able to compete with payroll but his teams do well. Sells and loses for a few years to rebuild and back in contention again. The time for the cubs to sell could not have come at a better time with all the expiring contracts. Do It!

It is too late to get max value. He is only going to get avg talent in return. To prune a top 100 he will have to combine players.
So I expect more deals like the Darvish deal. Volume deals to get unranked high celing types.
