Says many fans will probably be happy to hear it.

He was a darned good guard when he first came to the NFL.

During the Trestman years, when the so-called leaders on D simply stopped playing, Long played his heart out. It was certainly time to move on, but he played harder than most players do, and had some good years.

His body just didn’t hold up. And even when he was healthy they wasted time on him at rt. He’s always been a team player just no luck with injuries

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and drinking with Kyle a few times. He’s one of the classiest most accessible athletes I’ve met. He will be missed

Yes, we all knew that he was not going to be with the Bears - or in the NFL - next year. Didn't stop some from complaining we lost a hypothetical comp pick from some pro GM signing him while we all knew he was done. :)
